What is the Omo MCP server?

Omo MCP is a free, remote Model Context Protocol server at https://omo.space/api/mcp. It lets an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex search the Omo marketplace's 284 listings, pick the right tool for a request, show its price, run it, and return the finished file in the chat. 50 listings are runnable AI tools — personalised picture books, phonics readers, worksheets, classroom printables and teacher tools — priced from $0.10 to $7.81 per run. 234 are free creator prompts for Claude Opus 5.5 videos and games. Searching needs no account; paid runs use an Omo API key.

Builders

“Find an Opus 5.5 prompt for a 3D browser racing game.” Free prompts come back in full, with the creator credited.

Fastest setup

Prompt your agent to install Omo

Paste this prompt into any AI coding agent: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code or Windsurf. It shows you a setup checklist first, adds the server, then checks that it works. It never asks for your key in chat.

Agent install prompt
# Add the Omo MCP server

Connect this AI tool to Omo, a remote MCP server at https://omo.space/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP, stateless, nothing to install). It lets you search 284 Omo listings and run paid tools that return finished files (picture books, worksheets, printables).

## Before you run any command

Show me this checklist and wait for my OK:
1. Which client you are setting up (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Windsurf or other) and the exact file or command you will change.
2. Whether I want browse-only (no key) or paid runs (needs my Omo API key).
3. If paid runs: I get my key from https://omo.space/api.html myself. Never ask me to paste the key into this chat. Use an environment variable named OMO_API_KEY, or a placeholder I fill in.

## Set it up

- Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http omo https://omo.space/api/mcp (for paid runs add: --header "Authorization: Bearer $OMO_API_KEY")
- Cursor (.cursor/mcp.json) or VS Code / Windsurf MCP config: add a server named "omo" with url https://omo.space/api/mcp and, for paid runs, header Authorization: Bearer <my key>.
- Codex (~/.codex/config.toml): [mcp_servers.omo] with url = "https://omo.space/api/mcp" and bearer_token_env_var = "OMO_API_KEY" for paid runs.
- Claude.ai, Claude Desktop or ChatGPT: tell me to add a custom connector named Omo with the URL https://omo.space/api/mcp. You cannot do this step for me.
Keep any existing MCP servers in the file. Do not overwrite them.

## Check it works

1. Reload the MCP servers and confirm "omo" lists 9 tools, including omo_search and omo_route.
2. Call omo_route with "a phonics worksheet for year 1" and show me the best match and its price.
3. Do not call omo_run. Running a tool costs money: always tell me the price and get my OK first.

Two-minute setup

How do I add Omo MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex?

Omo is a remote MCP server at https://omo.space/api/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Nothing to install. Add your API key as a Bearer token so paid runs work without pasting it into chat.

Replace omo_YOUR_KEY with your key from omo.space/api.html. Leave the header out if you only want to browse.

Claude Code · terminal
claude mcp add --transport http omo \
  https://omo.space/api/mcp \
  --header \

Cursor · .cursor/mcp.json

      }
    }

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Omo and paste https://omo.space/api/mcp. Give your key when the assistant asks to run something.

ChatGPT

In developer mode, add a connector with the same URL. Searching and browsing work straight away.

Any MCP client

POST JSON-RPC 2.0 to the URL, start with initialize, then tools/list. Stateless: no session id to keep.

Browsing only?

Leave the key out. Search, routing, listings and free prompts all work without one.

Everything it can run

Questions

Omo MCP FAQ

Plain answers. Also available as Markdown and as a server card. The story behind it: how the Omo Space MCP server works.

What is the Omo MCP server?

A remote MCP server at https://omo.space/api/mcp that exposes the whole Omo marketplace to AI assistants through 9 tools: route a goal, search, browse categories, read a listing, run a tool, check a run, check credits, see pricing, and request a tool that does not exist yet.

Which AI assistants can use it?

Any client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, including Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT in developer mode, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and OpenAI Codex. Nothing is installed locally.

Is the Omo MCP server free?

Connecting, searching, browsing and reading listings are free and need no account. Running a paid tool costs that tool's listed price, from $0.10 to $7.81 per run, taken from prepaid Omo credits. Subscribers ($20 a month) run tools without per-run charges. The 234 Opus 5.5 prompts are always free.

Will my assistant spend money without asking?

The run tool tells the assistant to state the price and get your OK first, and MCP clients show a confirmation before calling a tool that is not read-only. Only one tool, omo_run, can cost money. A run that fails is refunded automatically, and retrying with the same idempotency key never charges twice.

Do I need an API key?

Not to browse. For paid runs and balance checks, copy your omo_ key from https://omo.space/api.html and add it to the MCP config as "Authorization: Bearer omo_YOUR_KEY", or give it to the assistant when it asks.

What can it make?

Examples: a personalised storybook with your child as the hero ($3.41), a decodable phonics picture book, spelling, maths and grammar worksheets, bingo cards, flashcards, reward charts, certificates, lesson plans and report comments. Files come back as signed download links, usually PDFs.

How is this different from a ChatGPT or Claude prompt?

A prompt returns text. Omo tools are tested workflows that return finished, print-ready files — illustrated books, laid-out worksheets, cards — with fixed inputs, a fixed price and automatic refunds when a run fails a quality check.

Where do payments happen?

Only on omo.space, through Stripe. The MCP server never sees card details. omo_pricing returns the top-up link (https://omo.space/billing.html).

What if nothing on Omo fits?

The assistant can call omo_request_tool with your email and what you need. Omo replies by email, usually within 2 days.
